The basic training methodology of the school relied on the same basic premise that Tenjin Shinyo Ryu used at the time, which was taught in kata and then emphasized in randori. Eventually under the rise of Kodokan Judo in the Meijii era the school adjusted and evolved their basic throwing and randori style to fit Judo’s basics, supplanting their kata in for the rest. This not only made the school popular, but spread Kodokan Judo with the idea of “Mutual Welfare and Benefit” that echoed powerfully during the early rise of National Socialism in Japan. Hachiro died on February 2, 1906, and his grave is located at Chounji Temple in Mita, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
